diverse needs of our clients. Position Overview: We are seeking a
highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee all financial
aspects of our organization. The Controller will play a crucial
role in maintaining financial integrity, implementing effective
financial controls, and providing strategic guidance to ensure the
long-term financial sustainability of the company. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in statutory accounting,
financial reporting, and regulatory compliance within the insurance
industry. Responsibilities: Financial Strategy: Assist CEO and
Executive management team with the execution of the company's
financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives,
driving growth, profitability, and financial objectives. Financial
Planning and Analysis: Lead the financial planning and analysis
(FP&A) function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and
performance analysis to support strategic decision-making and
resource allocation. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and
timely preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, and
management reports in compliance with accounting standards and
regulatory requirements. Risk Management: Manage financial risks
effectively, including market, credit, and operational risks,
implementing appropriate risk management practices and controls.
Capital Management: Optimize capital allocation and capital
structure to support business growth and maximize returns for
shareholders, overseeing capital planning, capital raising
initiatives, and dividend policy. Investment Management: Work with
CEO and Board Treasurer to provide oversight of the company's
investment activities, including asset allocation, portfolio
management, and investment performance monitoring, ensuring
alignment with investment objectives and risk appetite. Financial
Operations: Oversee financial operations, including banking
relationships, cash management, accounts payable, and accounts
receivable, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with
internal controls. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with
all regulatory requirements, including statutory reporting, tax
compliance, and regulatory filings, liaising with regulators and
auditors as necessary. Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain
strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including
reinsurers, actuary, financial institutions, investment advisors
and regulatory bodies, to support business objectives and enhance
the company's market position. Leadership and Team Development:
Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the accounting team and
all departments to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration,
and continuous learning. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in
accounting, Finance; CPA designation necessary. Minimum of 5 years
of leadership experience in finance and accounting, with
significant experience in the insurance industry. Deep
understanding of regulatory requirements, and financial reporting
standards. Thorough understanding of insurance accounting
principles, including knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting
principles. Proven track record of driving financial performance
and implementing strategic initiatives to achieve business
objectives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the
ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic
insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with
the ability to effectively interact with senior executives, board
members, regulators, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated
leadership ability, with a track record of building and developing
high-performing teams. Strategic mindset with a focus on
innovation, continuous improvement, and driving organizational
