The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the hotel. Key Responsibilities: Preventive Maintenance: - Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential issues. - Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems according to established schedules and procedures. - Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any deficiencies or concerns to the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor. Repairs and Troubleshooting: - Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance. - Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems, including HVAC systems, lighting fixtures, and water leaks. - Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized repairs or equipment servicing as needed. Safety and Compliance: - Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies related to maintenance activities. - Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste disposal. - Participate in regular safety training sessions and maintain a safe work environment at all times. Inventory Management: - Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, and reorder items as needed. - Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas. - Assist with inventory audits and asset tracking as directed by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor. Team Collaboration: - Collaborate with other hotel departments, including Housekeeping and Front Office, to address maintenance issues and ensure guest satisfaction. - Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities and share relevant information. - Provide assistance and support to other members of the Engineering team as needed. Requirements: Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a related field preferred. - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field. - Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. - Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices. - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. - Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
