Job Description Job Description CNC Machinist: Rockford, Illinois Our customer in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re hiring CNC Machinists to work full-time on 1st shift. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling and turning equipment to produce high-quality precision parts while meeting production and delivery requirements. Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist: Program CNC mills and lathes using G-code, both at the machine and offline, utilizing Fanuc controls on Doosan equipment Plan and complete full job setups from start to finish, including reviewing prints, selecting materials, tooling, work holding, and inspection methods. Set tool offsets, change tooling, measure parts, complete inspection reports, and maintain accurate part counts. Create or modify CAD models and CAM programs as needed to support machining operations. Train machine operators on proper machine operation and setup procedures. Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, and band saws when required. Perform deburring using belt sanders, hand tools, vibratory systems, or bench grinders. Maintain machines by adding coolant or oil, cleaning equipment, removing chips, and packaging finished parts. Perform basic machine troubleshooting and assist with simple repairs as needed. Complete additional duties as assigned to support shop operations. CNC Machinist Requirements and Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a machining environment required. At least 3 years of hands-on G-code programming experience. Proficiency using CAD and CAM software. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications. Experience using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, plug gauges, and thread gauges. Journeyman card in Precision Machining preferred. High school diploma or GED required with strong math skills. Must supply personal machinist tools, measuring equipment, and hand tools. Ability to track time and job progress using computerized systems. Ability to lift and push up to 35 pounds and perform repetitive reaching and light lifting. Strong focus on safety, organization, and housekeeping. Pay for CNC Machinist: $26.00–$32.00/hour. CNC Machinist Benefits: Health insurance. 401(k) with company match. Paid weekly. Direct deposit.
