Description: General CharacteristicsThe Manager of Quality Assurance for Crescend Technologies LLC partners with the leadership team to ensure that the organization focuses on meeting critical customer needs. They lead development and deployment of a Quality Management System to coordinate and direct the organization's activities to meet customer and regulatory requirements. The Manager of Quality Assurance provides a balanced quality scorecard measuring internal business processes, external outcomes, and financial impact to focus the organization on continuously improving strategic performance. They lead, track, and report on continuous improvement initiatives to build improved products and processes while reducing costs. Through their efforts, and leadership build a culture of quality focused on customer success and continuous improvement.Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy an integrated Quality Management System
  • Including updating/relaunching the company quality policy
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve integrated, right-sized organizational processes, owned by those closest to the work, to assure the consistent, safe delivery of quality products and services within budget.
  • Includes; Design Quality, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing Quality
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards
  • Deploy company quality scorecard
  • Financial impact of product and process waste
  • Customer experience and perspective
  • Business process effectiveness
  • Report scorecard results to senior management
  • Adapt scorecard to changing customer and company needs
  • Lead product failure investigations; identify and resolve product-related quality issues
  • Work cross functionally to ensure appropriate escalation and resources allocation
  • Lead application of 8D Analysis and track follow up actions
  • Advocate for protecting customer interests in resolving issues
  • Pro-actively identify areas where improvements in product and process quality can be made by monitoring quality metrics and analyzing underlying data (customer returns, scrap rates, on time deliveries and production productivity, etc.).
  • Interact with customers, to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback within company and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Monitor vendor performances and establish action plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the organization
  • through leadership of initiatives/projects,
  • reviewing adequacy of root cause analysis, corrections, corrective actions, preventative actions and effectiveness.
  • tracking and follow through of identified improvement initiatives/initiatives
  • Establish a hierarchical rhythm for identification, escalation, and follow through on quality issues and improvements, integrated with existing company operating system
  • Identifying and incorporating best practices from professional organizations and benchmarking of near peers
  • Build a culture of quality
  • Training staff on Quality Policy and continuous improvement
  • Educate and train employees as to their impact in the QMS.
  • Celebration of successes and contributions
  • Proselytizing for customer focus and improvement
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the President. Requirements: REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
    • Bachelors Science (BS) in Engineering, Science, or other 4-year degree in related technical discipline but consideration may be given for extensive experience or ASQ certifications
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a practicing quality professional.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a quality functional unit.
    • Established subject matter expert for the quality function and currently holding a position of Senior Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager
    • Proven track record of quality improvements and leadership
    • Established technical expertise in the requirements of ISO
    • Experience or trained in Lean/Six Sigma; ASQ Certified Green Belt or equivalent
    • Advanced skills in causal analysis and closed looped corrective action programs with ability to coach, mentor and train production personnel and technical subject matter experts
    • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated PC skills using MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Tableau, and SharePoint, as a minimum
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
    • Possess a working knowledge of other business unit processes, systems, standards and practices relevant to the development of new products
    • Legal authorization to work in the United StatesPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
      • BA/BS degree in engineering or related field.
      • Knowledge of critical process controls for electrical products assembly processes
      • Comfortable challenging the status quo and being a change agent on cultural development
      • Project management experience is a plus.PM20
