Job Overview
Montway Auto Transport is looking to expand our marketing team with a full-time Senior Marketing Manager. You will be responsible for the development, execution, measurement and optimization of our digital marketing efforts to maximize engagement and conversion with our retail shipping customers (B2C), as well as drive new lead generation and nurture-based marketing activities for helping grow our B2B business.
The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of copywriting fundamentals including grammar, punctuation and AP style. In addition to this, you should have a strong understanding of current marketing tools, strategies and trends and be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from conception to execution. You will work closely with the entire marketing team, internal stakeholders and vendors to launch campaigns on time and on budget.
This role will continue to evolve with our own growth, but this is an opportunity for anyone who seeks experience in crafting innovative digital marketing strategies and executing the specific tactics that align with them. We are looking for a creative strategic thinker who (ideally) has experience related to logistics and transportation companies.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will also have prior leadership experience with a proven track record of effectively managing local and remote employees of varying skill levels. This role reports directly to the Director of Marketing.
Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute and optimize all digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns
  • Maintain our social media presence across all digital channels
  • Drive and manage ongoing performance reporting across all digital marketing campaigns
  • Design, build and maintain our social media presence
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, assessing against established goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Identify trends and insights, optimizing spend and performance based on those insights
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Plan, execute and measure experiments/conversion tests
  • Direct report management and direct mentorship of junior digital marketing team members
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
  • Identify critical inflection and conversion points within successful user journeys and optimize user funnels
  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, recommending solutions as part of larger overarching marketing strategies
  • Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption when appropriate
  • Present digital media analytics reports to internal stakeholders
  • Make recommendations for new techniques, metrics and strategies to improve future targeting and measurement
  • Monitor all landing pages to maximize conversion rates, planning A/B and multivariate tests for achieving improved conversion results
  • Be a champion for stakeholders, escalating issues when necessary and demonstrating flexibility when needed
  • Support additional marketing projects as requested Qualifications, Skills, Traits and Abilities
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Marketing Technology or related discipline with digital strategy focus
    • 6+ years of experience in emerging digital platforms, interactive marketing or digital platform management; a strong marketing generalist with exposure and expertise across many areas of digital and traditional marketing required
    • 5+ years extended and advanced experience with tier 1 paid advertising platforms (Google AdWords and Microsoft Ads) required
    • 3+ years of SEO strategy or hands-on execution working with semRush, MOZ, ScreamingFrog and Ahrefs preferred
    • 3+ years of experience with social media paid ad platforms (LinkedIn and Facebook) required
    • Prior B2C, B2B and direct ecommerce experience in planning and executing digital marketing strategies required
    • Prior CRM experience required; Salesforce preferred
    • Prior lead scoring and pipeline management exposure, including full-funnel content marketing strongly preferred
    • Highly creative, with experience in identifying target audiences and crafting digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
    • Proven success in managing, mentoring and developing team members
    • In-depth knowledge in online customer experience (UI), web design, search engine marketing and optimization, web analytics and technologies, digital media planning and content/social media management
    • Stong project management experience required
    • Previous work with audience segmentation and targeting strategies, leveraging ad and look-a-like audience retargeting
    • Prior experience with the logistics industry is a plus
    • Experience leading enterprise projects from strategic planning to implementation and delivery required
    • Working experience managing a corporate website, with keen understanding of front-end development, content authoring and website auditing; experience with enterprise CMS platforms; WordPress preferred
    • In-depth knowledge and prior experience using data analytics/website measurement tools and platforms, including Google Analytics to make solution-based recommendations
    • Prior experience with marketing automation platforms required; Pardot preferred
    • Experience with conversational UI platforms such as LiveChat, Drift or other chatbots an asset
    • Basic proficiency in HTML and CSS required
    • Superior organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities across a variety of stakeholders
    • Previous success collaborating with web developers an asset
    • Exceptional writing skills a "must have"
    • Intermediate on-page SEO copywriting experience and expertise in SEO editorial best practices
    • Exemplary communication skills and clarity of thought
    • Ability to think strategically, creatively and opportunistically
    • Skilled at communicating through a variety of mediums with many different audiences and objectives
    • Demonstrate a high degree of grit, perspective, intellectual honesty and professionalism
    • An organized self-starter who is always eager to learn something new
    • Passion for accuracy and detail, including written and oral communications
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment
    • Proactive and self-motivated
    • Flexible, able to adjust to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fluid and fast-paced environment
