Zurich North America is currently hiring a Cloud Portfolio Director to work for its team out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL where the Director will lead and manage a team of Senior Cloud Engineers and Architects who will build and deliver the Cloud management platform for the enterprise. The scope of responsibilities includes cloud modernization strategy, managed services, agile development team management and cloud service provisioning and will serve as the lead cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) for implementing and overseeing cloud computing strategy. The day to day responsibilities will include: Leading a team of Senior Engineers & Solution Architects to design cloud-based solutions with the responsibility to ensure the application teams maintains an overall productivity and efficiency in utilization of the platform and in providing assessments for various type of service adoption for public cloud Maintaining an understanding of advancing cloud capabilities, IT, and business needs to collaborate with business application teams on upcoming strategic decisions Acting as a platform owner and maintain a roadmap of customer enhancements according to the customer's requirements Delivering end-to-end cloud architecture solutions Collaborating with enterprise architecture team and other stakeholders to determine enterprise tools, technologies, and processes Supporting the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption Driving the organization towards Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevSecOps, Big Data/Analytics, AI, Cloud scalability, and Micro-Services A strong understanding of the CI/CD pipeline including implementation of Infrastructure as Code Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 7 or more years of experience in the information technology area OR Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the information security area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the information technology area AND MS Office experience Experience in information technology operations Leadership experience Project management experience Preferred Qualifications: People management experience Experience in building relationship management skills and experience in partnering and building credibility with senior leaders and stakeholders at all levels Customer service experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience in communicating and syndicating IT topics with business leadership and to a range of technical and non-technical staff Strong consulting and influencing skills Experience with Private / Public Cloud services and technologies Experience with virtual/cloud infrastructure Experience with Cloud technologies with focus in Hyper converged platforms, Scale I/O storage technology, VMware, VSphere, VxRack, VxBlock or Vblock technologies, Avamar and data domain data protection Experience with workplace / end user services Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle process Operational understanding of IP-based computer networking within LAN and WAN environments including implementations in a public cloud environment Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies Experience with Remedy and Service Now technology Insurance industry experience or knowledge of the insurance industry Relocation Assistance availableAs a condition of employment at Zurich, employees must adhere to our COVID-related health and safety protocols (https://www.zurichna.com/careers/faq), including, without limitation, a requirement that employees attest as to their vaccination status with a YES/NO, and upload proof of vaccination status, or a negative COVID test result when applicable, to a third-party vendor.
