Reporting to CHRO of global HR, the VPHR will work with senior leaders across the organization to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, to support an evolving workforce and to ensure excellence in HR service delivery. The VPHR will champion the company's culture and work side by side with the CEO of North America to evolve our human resource support. This impactful leader will be an integral part of the leadership team, leading and driving a scalable colleague strategy that will best enable Convergint's growth agenda while continuing to further our culture.

The VPHR will, with the US HR team, ensure a thoughtful colleague experience that improves onboarding, supports acquisitive growth and continues to raise the bar and improve engagement and the overall colleague experience for our current and future leaders. The ideal leader possesses strategic aptitude, moves with urgency and embraces the opportunity to be the face of the people function. This impactful leader is a growth focused and is a strong communicator and collaborator. They can translate the business objectives to the people, talent and culture strategy that will continue to make Convergint the employer of choice within the Security and AV Integration industry.

Job Responsibilities (direct and through HR team management):

Strategy & Growth:

  • Shape and lead a strategic people function for Convergint US.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to the CEO of North America, Executive Leaders and members of the HR team.
  • Develop and administer programs, procedures and guidelines with individual regions & CTC locations to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
  • Work closely with management and colleagues to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Works with the business leaders developing talent acquisitions strategies and collaborates with TA Directors to drive the TA process to support our high growth model.
  • Support acquisitions and integrations within the US, ensuring new colleagues are onboarded and integrated to the organization
  • Responsible for coordinating all employment related activities for acquisitions within the region including benefit and compensation analysis and all onboarding activities needed for integration
  • Consult with local management and provide daily HR guidance
  • Analyze trends and metrics within regions and develop HR programs to support managers and colleagues

  • Determine and recommend colleague relations practices necessary to establish a positive employment relationship and promote a high level of morale and motivation

    Leadership & Development:

  • Lead the current team of 5 HRBPs, 6 Talent Acquisitions, 1 Benefits and 4 Learning & Development colleagues through 9 direct reports.
  • Responsible for delivering Leadership and Human Resource training within the regions.
  • Participate in the interview selection process for management level positions within the regions.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with managers in regions supporting their success & development
  • Ensure that the company has the talent it needs to deliver on its growth agenda
  • Works with business leaders to drive the Learning and Development strategy and deliver impactful training for all US colleagues while collaborating with the global team to share knowledge and best practices.

    HR Programs & Procedures:

  • Focus on operational excellence within the HR team through the implementation of scalable programs and processes.
  • Manage, implement and administer all HR programs by region
  • Develop and improve various HR related projects & programssuch as performance reviews, merit and bonus process, updating job descriptions, benefits communication and enrollment, rewards and recognition programs
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of colleagues, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department or outside counsel as needed/required
  • Monitor and advise managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline and performance improvement process
  • Oversee the day-to-day needs of human resource support including policy interpretation and administration of policies in a fair and consistent manner
  • Administration and management of all colleague leave activities. Manage all coordination with payroll department and outside vendors

    Colleague Relations:

  • Manage and resolve complex employment relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations if needed
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to frontline management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development)

    Knowledge and Opportunity:

  • Expertise across all aspects of human resources, including colleague relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, culture development, learning and development, and talent acquisition.
  • Prior experience leading change efforts within a fast-paced, matrix environment, geographically dispersed business unit, with rapidly shifting skills/capabilities required.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of how to grow and scale high-performing HR teams at an exponential rate while maintaining an excellent employee experience.
  • Developed strategies to hire top talent. Collaborate with TA Teams and Regional Leaders to implement these strategies.
  • Experience leading at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Ability to lead planning, execution and management of others across Talent & Culture initiatives as well as manage the day-to-day operations and budget of the People team.
  • A passion for and personal alignment with Convergint's building the next generation of leaders and while maintaining our entrepreneurial spirit.
  • A seasoned executive and people strategist with experience leading talent engagement and talent development.
  • Experience supporting acquisition activity, especially integrations of acquired companies.
  • Proven success in designing a people strategy that aligns people with business and growth goals
  • Previous implementation experience with Human Capital Management systems; UKG preferred
  • Solid project management experience
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

      Education, Experience and Travel Requirements:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related discipline required. Masters preferred. PHR or SPHR preferred.
        • At least 15 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a distributed work environment.
        • Able to travel as necessary (50%) to visit locations across the US

The colleague may lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

          Work Environment:

          The position is office based with frequent trips to local offices within the US to conduct training, meetings and investigations.
