Job Description:
Sr. Manager, Food Regulatory Compliance (Onsite)The food
regulatory compliance senior management is responsible for the
management of regulatory compliance programs, tasks, projects, and
tech services team members.-- Role is critical for timely
resolution and execution of TS project work in support of the
company and customer product pipeline.-- The Senior Manager leads
the training and continuous improvement initiatives for the
function and peer functions.Functions of the PositionManages
department employees and evaluates their performance to assure job
responsibilities are being performed at an expected level and
ensures team is motivated, trained, work prioritized, and working
as a cohesive team within the department and other
departmentsMaintains functional expertise in Nutrition and
Health.-- Advises the business on claims justification and
substantiation.-- Utilizes and maintains the Product Vision
nutritional database.-- Partners or leads initiatives on claims,
nutrition compliance, change management, and program
executionApproves, as needed, ingredient statement and nutritional
information for all branded and private label products to comply
with federal, state, customer and company food labeling regulations
and requirementsMaintains up to date knowledge of government
regulatory and legislative activities established by federal and
state agencies in the area of food labeling and compliance.--
Updates company Policy to reflect pending legislation in a
proactive and business minded approachManages label artwork review
and approvals to ensure regulatory compliance.-- Manages company
Recipe nutrition reviewsSupports and provides expertise to new
product development team activities; manages close communication
with team members from Product Development, Marketing, Quality,
Procurement, Creative, Legal, and Customer ServiceResponds to
nutrition, regulatory, and labeling questions from customers and
consumers.-- Provides guidance to customers and consumers on
labeling claims and requirements including allergen
statementsManages all company product specifications across all
customers and the industrial channelTechnical
Qualifications:Education, Experience, KnowledgeBachelor of Science
Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or Laboratory Science (such as
biology, chemistry or physics, etc.) is requiredTen years of
experience in regulatory and labeling activities in a
food-manufacturing environment requiredMust be a strong
communicator with comprehensive hands-on experience in food
manufacturing / operationsSkills and CompetenciesStrong leadership
skills in managing change as well as managing the activities of
technically based employeesHighly proficient in utilizing popular
computer software / desktop applications (such as MS Word, MS
Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.)Must be capable of serving as a
"customer advocate" within the company environmentMust be capable
of positively interacting with other companies / customers upper
