Job Description:
Ingredion is searching for a Category Manager Logistics
Procurement Package Transportation, US & CAN who will develop and
ensure the execution of a winning strategic logistics procurement
strategy, including contracting cycles, allowing operations to
deliver tradeoffs in cost, service, and risk in support of
Ingredion's North American business strategy. Key Position
Accountabilities/Responsibilities - Strategic procurement and
vendor performance over $100MM in annual category spend, 30 vendors
spanning logistics modes of dry van, intermodal,
less-than-truckload, and parcel in US & Canada. - Work closely with
North American supply chain, and finance to develop and ensure
execution of a winning strategic logistics procurement strategy,
including contracting cycles, allowing operations to deliver
tradeoffs in cost, service and risk in support of Ingredion's North
American business strategy. - Supplier relationship management to
manage risk ensuring service (capacity elasticity) and costs
continuity tailored to specific business unit needs. Deep logistics
procurement industry knowledge with ability to build and leverage
vendor relationships to achieve competitive cost advantage and
support operations to realize service goals. - Identification and
implementation of future pipeline of procurement savings, value
creating opportunities. - Supporting operations through metric
based KPI vendor scorecard programs to continuously improve service
while controlling costs. Develop core carrier council to drive
performance through innovation, including multimodal vendor
synergies, and shipper-of-choice practices. - Total cost of
ownership decision making in evaluating company-wide trade-offs
(cost, service, speed) between internal and external stakeholders,
carriers, supply chain, manufacturing, commercial and various
functions to optimize business value. - Ability to lead and improve
the logistics strategic procurement process, including, internal
needs assessments, review supplier market dynamics, and negotiating
contract terms. - Engage cross functionally including finance,
legal, corporate procurement, commercial, supply chain, operational
and analytical teams to create customer value. Qualified candidates
will have the following skills & qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree
in Business, Operational Management, Economics, or equivalent. MBA
a plus. - Must be able to travel up to 10%. - 10+ years' experience
in logistics, supply chain, distribution and/or procurement. - A
proven track record of customer focus, ensuring stakeholders
alignment. - A proven track record of leadership, including winning
through influence, deep negotiating skills. - Experience improving
sourcing strategy, supplier management, and procurement process. -
Presentation skills, including strong written and oral
communication. - Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business
situations and problems, coordinate many complex
activities/projects simultaneously, and direct successful
solutions, including understanding of logistics financial
forecasting, and budgets.
