Facility Manager (CFM) serves as a technical resource and leader
within Prime data centers and reports to the VP of Critical
Operations. The CFM coordinates and supervises day-to-day
operations to a high standard of operability & sustainability.
Oversee all building systems and critical facilities equipment and
is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and
fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at
peak efficiency and 100% uptime. This involves both planned
preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and
emergency response to emergent issues. The CFM serves as an owner
representative and is ultimately responsible for the entire
facility, the people that report to them, and managing
relationships with customers and third-party vendors.The CFM is
able to manage medium-large impacting projects from conception to
completion. These projects involve large amounts of independent
work as well as collaboration with external support groups
including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in both
local and global settings. The CFM will be tasked with creating and
delivering on key milestones, obtaining and tracking quotes for all
necessary costs, and documenting project results for future
implementation at other facilities. The goals of such projects are
for the CFM to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing
operational costs in the facilities.The CFM directs, trains, and
supports site Operations Technicians in their role of providing
hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and
operations. Implementation and execution of site/equipment-specific
training exercises is also expected. This equipment includes, but
is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's,
PDU's, AHU's, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems,
pumps, motors, VFD's, and building automation
systems.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical
and electrical equipment in a data center.
- Operate independently with limited direct management.
- Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues
within the data center, escalating to the Critical Facility Manager
as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Troubleshoot and report of facility and data server-level
events within internal SLA.
- Create and deploy new standard practices for Critical
Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, Facility Managers and
vendor support teams.
- Provide training and guidance to Critical Operations
Technicians.
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and PDC
employees.
- Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical
audience.Basic Qualifications:
- Technical college degree or equivalent work experience in lieu
of degree.
- Five or more years of data center experience or equivalent
experience.
- CPR/First Aid and NFPA70E Certification during
employment.Preferred Qualifications:
- Six or more years of related experience in Data Centers or
similar environment (i.e., critical facilities, military
etc.).
- Three or more years' experience leading or managing
teams.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- Strong background in electrical and mechanical systems design
review, layout, installation, commissioning, and operations.
- Expert knowledge of NFPA Electrical, Fire and Life Safety and
building codes.
- Expert knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25 and
compliance issues.
- Expert knowledge in industrial safety best practices (i.e.,
lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, OSHA, and state
regulations).
- Experienced with data trending / tracking and analysis and
ability to rapidly learn and use PC based, integrated critical
monitoring systems.
- Strong supervisor skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Extensive hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and
troubleshooting large commercial and industrial mechanical &
electrical systems including:
- 480V Electrical Distribution Systems.
- Chilled/Condenser Water Pump.
- CRACs / CRAHs / DSE.
- Diesel Generators.
- Domestic Water systems, including Backflow Prevention
devices.
- EPMS / BMS Systems.
- Fuel/Oil systems, Fuel/Oil Day tanks and Fuel/Oil Storage
Tanks.
- HVAC equipment.
- Knowledge of NFPA 25, sprinkler and dry-stand pipe systems,
including Emergency Fire Pump where applicable.
- Medium Voltage Switchgear.
- PLC and relay logic controls.
- STS / ATS.
- UPS Systems / Types.
- VFD Drives.
- VRLA / Li-Ion Batteries and Monitoring Systems.
- Water Treatment Systems.
- Well/Vault or Sump Pumps.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Project).
- Ability to train the electrical and mechanical teams on the
systems and the procedures.
- Ability to conduct power & fire system capacity, safety and
code compliance assessments.
- Ability to operate in and promote a rigorous process-driven,
team environment.
- Ability to logically analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to multi-task multiple projects.
- Detailed oriented.Physical Requirements:All physical
