Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Infusion RN for an
outpatient cancer care clinic in Chicago, IL, requiring ONS
Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification and at least 1 year of
outpatient infusion/oncology experience. Details - Outpatient
oncology infusion clinic located within a hospital campus in
Chicago, IL - Adult oncology patient population; no pediatric
patients - Common treatments include chemotherapy administration,
long-term IV antibiotics (IVABX), injections, and blood and
platelet infusions - Approximately 10 patients per day through the
department; no chemo patients after 1400 - Unit consists of 5
infusion chairs - Monday through Friday schedule, 8-hour day shifts
(0800–1630); clinic closes at 1530 but RNs may stay later to
complete infusions - No weekend rotation, no on-call or callback
requirements - Facility is closed on major holidays - No floating
required - EMR: Epic (preferred but not required); IV pump: Alaris;
medication dispensing: Pyxis Requirements - Active IL RN license
required - Current BLS certification required - ONS
Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required - Minimum 1 year
of outpatient infusion/oncology experience required, with most
recent experience within the last year - Proficiency in chemo
administration, peripheral IV insertion, Port-a-Cath access, and
PICC line access - Ability to draw blood from ports for lab
collection - Strong assessment skills with comfort recognizing and
responding to adverse reactions - Last 4 digits of SSN and full
date of birth required for consideration - Minimum 1 professional
reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager,
Director, or Charge RN Additional Information - Clinic support
includes a shared clinic lead (between two hospital sites), patient
schedulers, and 1 additional infusion RN on shift - An oncologist
is on site at the hospital and available to respond as needed;
rapid response and hospitalist/ED coverage also available -
Orientation consists of a general hospital orientation plus one
unit orientation shift to learn clinic workflow - Up to 7 days of
RTO may be approved during the contract - Navy scrubs required -
Free parking available on site - First-time travelers will be
considered, though preference is given to candidates with prior
