The Village of Schaumburg is a home rule municipality that operates under the Council/Manager form of government. TheVillage President and Board of Trustees are elected atlarge for four-year staggered terms and appoint a VillageManager to administer the policy set by the Village Board. The village provides a full range of municipal services,including police and fire protection, community andeconomic development, construction and maintenance ofthe village's streets and infrastructure, water and sewerservices, youth and senior services, local transit service,owns the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center anda minor league baseball stadium which is the home of theSchaumburg Boomers, and operates the SchaumburgRegional Airport and Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts.



The Human Resources Department consists of eight full-timeemployees dedicated to providing exceptionalservice to stakeholders. The eight positions include: theDirector of Human Resources, Assistant Director ofHuman Resources, Benefits and Risk Manager, Talentand Compensation Manager, along with four analystpositions who are accountable for providing exceptional service to all Village employees and potential Villageemployees. The Human Resources Director is appointed by and serves under the direction of the VillageManager. The Director works closely with, and reports to, the Assistant Village Manager.



The Human Resources Director is an attentive and responsive leader who offers solutions in theirsupervision, administration, and operations of the Human Resources department services and programsincluding the professional development of the human resources staff to ensure continuing growth as contentmatter experts in related disciplines; a strategic partner who offers solutions to human resources issues.The position requires a decisive leader who is confident, honest, fair, and one who consistently assures theintegrity and competence of the department's work product, processes, and procedure; an individual who ishard-working, creative and ethical upholding high moral standards and who leads by example in a highlytransparent organization.The next Human Resources Director will be a consensus builder who can establish positive and productiveworking relationships with the Village Board, village management, department heads, union officials,employees and other stakeholders, and be an individual who understands and embraces a dynamic, fastmovingmunicipal organization that serves the community on a 24/7 basis.



Qualified candidates will possess a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management, BusinessAdministration, Organizational Development, Public Administration or related field; and five to ten yearsprogressively responsible administrative human resources experience in a municipal setting or equivalentjurisdiction to include a minimum of five years of managerial experience. Specific experience is necessary inseveral of the following: employee relations, HRIS/HCM, labor, compensation, benefit administration,recruitment, and training. Ability to interpret and enforce applicable Federal, State and local policies, rules, lawsand regulations is required. Certification by SHRM or IPMA-HR is highly desired.



The salary range for this position is $132,602-$192,267 depending upon qualifications and experience.Additionally, the Village of Schaumburg offers a comprehensive, competitive benefits package that may bereviewed here.
