IT Lead duties and responsibilities
Pinnacle Advertising is seeking a well-qualified individual to oversee & lead the Information Technology functions for the enterprise. This technology leader will have a pivotal role, reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with senior management, to establish the vision for the delivery of IT services. Working closely with partners and strategic vendors, this individual will provide leadership for the server and network infrastructure, voice communications, software maintenance, and desktop support and services. This person will drive the adoption of new capabilities and technologies through road maps, programs, and projects to propel the transformation of the as-is systems, services, and infrastructure to the to-be state.

The IT Lead is responsible for providing leadership and direct, hands-on support for 100 200 employees across the Pinnacle Enterprise. The IT Lead collaborates with vendors and partners to deliver onsite and/or remote support as needed for Mac and Windows systems & laptops, Cisco & Dell networks & servers, and phones systems.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Setting up hardware and software, diagnosing issues, resolving data access problems
  • Leading and resolving users access issues related to shared drives and devices
  • Managing inventory, product ordering and maintenance/updates
  • Collaborates with management and vendors on complicated / complex issues
  • Manage, oversee and provide technical support to all users through the ticketing system. Ranging from T1 T3 issues
  • Develop training and provide resources to users for common requests or issues
  • Creates & Run reports to analyze trends and common issues to implement long term solutions
  • Builds and implements database and software security procedures
  • Performs periodic data audit and backups to prevent information loss and unauthorized access
  • Manage and direct IT support staff/freelance
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment
  • Organization, management and communication for the phone system, printers, internet, AV assistance and other sources as they relate to user ability to perform their duties
  • Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the Agency
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors and other technology resources within and outside the organization
  • Documents technical designs that properly support and balance sometimes competing business requirements
  • Manage relationships with external and internal outsourcing partners and suppliers (including negotiating supplier contracts)
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of all IT functions. Including the creation and implementation of designs, providing assurance that key requirements are preserved and that all gaps are understood and communicated to stakeholders as appropriate
  • Manage the asset management, and contract and license management for IT hardware and software assets
  • Works closely with the Agencys outsourced data center provider(s) and monitor agreed upon service levels commitments (SLAs) and operating level agreements (OLAs) in the area of server hosting, network and data storage service
  • Collaborates with senior Management, vendors & partners in developing and documenting technical standards and best practices and enforcing such standards and best practices through appropriate processes and training
  • Leads hardware upgrades and installations
  • Provides leadership ensuring documentation and analysis of existing designs are captured, understood, and available
  • Manages the resolution of all problems, incidents, events, RCAs escalating to senior management as necessary
  • Collaborates to develops technical presentations, addressing various topics including but not limited to technology in general, project work performed or to be performed internally, technical standards & best practices, industry trends including up-and-coming technology, methods, techniques, and routines, retrospectives and lessons learned
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives dedicated to reducing complexity and reaching Agencys business objectives
  • Work with senior leaders to set IT direction for the IT department and align with overall Agency strategies
  • Assists in monitoring and managing fiscal aspects of the IT department including the IT annual operating & capital budgets
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent
    Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesAble to demonstrate a technical understanding and abilities with the following technologies:
    • MAC & Windows Servers & operating systems, Windows Domain Configuration, Exchange/O365 and VMware
    • Networking (design, deploy, configure and maintain) including Cisco, Meraki, Dell and other manufacturer equipment
    • Experience with Synology Disk Station a plus, but not necessary
    • Displays a passion for technology and for solving business problems
    • Has the ability to lead through influence
    • Stakeholder management, driving completion of successful meetings, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
    • Open mindedness and curiosity about alternative technical approaches, products and platforms
    • Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to engage the business on its own terms, and must be able to engage technical teams across different technical disciplines on their terms as well
      Qualifications
      • A bachelors degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience
      • A minimum of 5 years Information Technology experience
      • Demonstrated experience in driving programs, projects, and daily operational functions. Experience working and leading cross-functional teams in installations, upgrades, and IT operations
      • Demonstrated success in daily project management activities being extremely sensitive to meeting or exceeding defined deadlines
      • Prior experience managing IT operations, and infrastructure
      • Familiarity with desktop, laptop, handheld and server computer hardware. Additional familiarity with local and wide area network design, implementation and operations
      • Strong work ethic, a sense of business urgency and ability to work effectively with many deadlines in a complex matrix organization
      • Strong people, leadership, and communication skills
