Job Description:

*RESPONSIBILITIES *

* Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 network support for complex network cases.


* Establish, and enforce best practice processes for network planning, configurations, monitoring, patch management, and security


* Implement and develop a plan to achieve high availability and reliability within the core network.


* Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training, and written documentation.


* Class 4/5 Soft switch configuration, support and maintenance.


* Have knowledge of Fiber technology and its implementation technique in service provider environments.


* Configure and troubleshoot networking equipment, routers, switches, IADs, etc.


* Work closely with Project Managers and Field Technicians.


* 24/7 On call support when required


* Travel to customer sites or downtime Chicago Data Center may be required


* Other responsibilities as assigned


*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS*

* 2 to 3 years of experience in networking.


* Experience needed with Cisco Routers and Switches, Fortinet, ASA, RADIUS/TACACS, QOS, VPN, IP MULTICAST, SIP, VOIP


* Subject Matter Expert in IP routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IP MULTICAST, MPLS.


* Experience working with Co-Location providers to manage bandwidth procurement and installation.


* Willingness to take on-call responsibilities that will be shared among the Network group personnel.


* Ability to work with minimal supervision


* Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedure within the telecom arena.


* CCNA certification or equivalent is desired


* Knowledge and good understanding and networking


* Excellent Troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn new technologies.


* Ability to work remotely when required

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
