Job Description Job Description We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Racine, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of network systems and infrastructure. Your expertise in network engineering, vendor coordination, and system optimization will be critical in supporting both day-to-day operations and larger infrastructure projects. Responsibilities: • Install and configure network systems and equipment, ensuring updates to existing systems are implemented efficiently. • Plan and execute office reconfigurations, including Ethernet cabling additions, relocations, and removals. • Manage the installation of switches and equipment in racks, ensuring proper cable organization and replacement of open racks with secure, locked racks. • Perform network cable cleanup across various buildings and areas, organizing data closets and improving cable management. • Configure, install, and replace network cameras and wireless access points, while creating diagrams for camera placement and optimal views. • Coordinate vendor activities, including cabling, electrical work, and punch-down tasks, while managing timelines, verifying quotes and invoices, and assessing quality. • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, define use cases, and document project scope and expected outcomes. • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, such as network diagrams, floorplans, cable pathways, and equipment configurations. • Track equipment and project progress using tools like Excel and Smartsheets, and assist with equipment specification, ordering, stocking, and tracking. • Configure and validate installed equipment, ensuring functionality and compliance with security standards.• Proficiency in network engineering fundamentals, including routing, switching, cabling, and segmented network best practices. • Strong experience in infrastructure project management and vendor coordination, including scope definition, timeline creation, and quality verification. • Hands-on expertise in equipment implementation, configuration, and validation, with exceptional troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, and Windows 10. • Knowledge of Dell and Citrix technologies. • Competence in cabling and cable management processes. • Solid project management skills with the ability to document and track progress effectively using Microsoft Excel or Smartsheets. • Experience in vendor management and coordinating external resources effectively.
