Omaha Track is hiring a CDL A Local Truck Driver in Chicago Heights, IL.

The local Driver is responsible for operating tractor-trailer combinations locally, to transport intermodal containers between company and customer facilities, rail yards, and/or work sites in a safe and timely manner. Driver may also be responsible for operating tractor-trailer combinations locally, to transport loads utilizing flatbed and end dump trailers between company and customer facilities and/or work sites in a safe and timely manner.

Must have 2 years' experience operating a Manual Transmission on a Commerical Vehicle over 25,000 pounds with a transmission type of 10 or more speeds.

Compensation

• Weekly Guaranteed Pay: $1,500
  • Extra $50 load pay for each load done on Saturday or Sunday
  • Must be available one Saturday a month
• Potential Quarterly Bonus
• Paid via direct deposit weekly

Home Time, Route & Schedule

• Home Daily!
• 5-day work week with one Saturday a month
• Day/afternoon shift with an average of 10-12 hour shift
• Level of Touch: Load and Unload / Secure and Unsecure Load

• Late Model Conventional Tractor Fleet
• Intermodal, flatbed and end-dump
• Mix of Automatic and Manual Transmission
• Outward Facing Cameras

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Operate a tractor-trailer combination safely and efficiently to transport assigned loads
• Ensure all loaded materials are safely secured prior to and throughout transport
• Inspect company vehicles/trailers and report necessary maintenance in accordance with policies and procedures
• Check-in with the Transportation department daily for assignments and updates
• Practice proper housekeeping with clean, properly maintained vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Accurately complete and maintain a drivers log in accordance with requirements
• Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures
• Report all job site incidents and injuries to Transportation Manager immediately
• Complete and maintain all required safety training and certifications

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have CDL A license with no restrictions
• Must have a minimum of 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience with a clean driving record within last 24 month
• Must have 2 years' experience operating a Manual Transmission on a Commerical Vehicle over 25,000 pounds with a transmission type of 10 or more speeds.
• Intermodal, flatbed and end-dump experience preferred
• Tractor-trailer experience in all 4 seasons required
• 0 DUI/DWIs in last year
• No endorsements required
• Ability to meet all functional requirements including, but not limited to: lifting/carrying (up to 100lbs),sitting, kneeling, climbing, standing, walking, bending, squatting, pulling, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shoulders
• Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
• Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 50 miles of Chicago Heights, IL or be willing to relocate
