NNOC Tier 2 Engineer - 3rd shift - ENG001622
The NNOC Tier 2 Engineer is a technical lead position that provides
technical support for work activities of NNOC Tier 1 Technicians
monitoring the UScellular® operational network. This Engineer
performs Tier II troubleshooting, escalation and incident
management as well as authoritative bridge facilitation and outage
restoration, providing 80% first call resolution for troubles that
enter their responsibility. This position requires interaction with
external business partners, so high impact communication delivering
proper urgency and assertiveness is required. This position assists
w/first level escalations for the (Tier 1) NNOC team. This role
ensures technician availability via PBX stats and readiness based
on SLA timelines. This Engineer provides Incident Management on all
Level Critical Outages and escalations to NNOC. He or she schedules
and assigns duties for the shift and reports to the NNOC Manager on
responsible metrics. Acts as a vital link between the customer,
equipment, and Tier III functions of the Network and platform
support teams. Acts as liaison between support departments,
vendors, field operations, and NNOC Leadership teams!
- Provide technical assistance and prioritization to Tier 1 NNOC
associates ensuring completion of daily tasks and workflow. Assist
Tier 1 with first level escalation for service impacting outages
adhering to SLA timelines. Perform internal first level technical
and process escalation for the assigned NNOC shift to drive
restoration of services. Drive the Incident Management Process for
these critical service disruptions from Tier 1.
- Trouble shoot network elements and transport systems to the
component level before involving Tier 3 or higher Tier. Provide
analysis of the Operational Network using network performance tool
and ensure sticking to OLA/SLA parameters. Provide feedback and
support on operational efficiencies and needs to NNOC leadership.
Develop, document, and deliver training and procedures to NNOC
associates on key network elements or processes critical to the
operation of the NNOC.
- Collaborate with UScellular® business partners to gather and
discover vital information for training and process creation,
increasing efficiencies, and positive impacts within the NNOC.
Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of NNOC documentation, tools,
and procedures through periodic review!
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or
related technical field required. 5 or more years of experience in
cellular telecommunications, data networking, or operations
Superior problem solving and analytical skills and must be able to
work with minimal guidance while leading others. Demonstrates
excellent interpersonal communications and complex problem solving.
Proficient writing skills are required
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and ever-evolving
environment. Ability to work both as a great teammate and
individual contributor. Functional and working knowledge of
Microsoft Windows and various operating system. Must be willing to
work 3rd shift (overnight).

IMS Core technology (p-cscf, i-cscf, and s-cscf)
