Systems Engineer, Customer Experience & Analytics Solution - ENG001613

System Engineer, Customer Experience & Analytics Solution will work with customer experience product managers, engineering, sales, marketing and customer care in order to; develop architecture, system requirements, and test features for the Customer Experience Management (CXM) system. In addition, this System engineer will assist in testing and integrating major/minor features of hardware and software product developed by U.S. Cellular or our vendors. The role will bring to bear knowledge in BigData toolsets and techniques to implement customer experience improvement models, features and solutions!

  • Develop requirements, design and implementation plan for software driven use cases and solutions.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional areas in collaboration with vendors and contractors. Propose/build architecture of the solutions using relevant infrastructure.
  • Utilize Agile and DevOps development techniques for platform/system development.
  • Make recommendations to leadership team(s), covering relative costs of activities, opportunities for use case prioritization and implementation!

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information technology or similar field or equivalent work or military experience. Minimum 3 years experience in a technical area such as Telecommunications or IT. Exposure to technical fields (such as Access Engineering/Access Operations/Core Operations/Service Engineering/Security/DevOps, and automation environments (software development).

Knowledge and skills within the Engineering organization, which include (but are not limited to) programming languages including Python / 'R' / Java / shell scripting/SQL/HiveQL. Custom-developed work automation tools which use micro-services and various automation tools. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Software Development Platforms including; Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Openstack. Knowledge of SQL (HiveQL knowledge is a plus) is helpful.

Systems and Databases including Linux / Postgres / Oracle / Hadoop / Virtualization Technologies (KVM, VMware, etc,) Network Management Applications including Resolve / Netcool / Remedy / Netscout / Wireless Network Guardian / CXM / Netact / OSS-RC / IBM ITNM / Infovista TEMs is helpful. Custom-developed automation tools that uses micro-services & various (automation) tools is also helpful.
