Are you interested in gaining some experience with teaching and making an impact in the lives of young people? Contractual positions are now available, paying $30/hour, 16 hours per week (M/T/TH/F 2:30 pm-5:30 pm W 1:30 pm-5:30 pm).Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring, and Hope) Teaching Assistants will provide a balance of academic and enrichment activities to help 6th to 8th-grade students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills. Activities will be conducted in accordance with the conditions and terms set forth by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Program and will take place in CCSD59 middle schools during the school year (April- June), including school breaks, including holidays, and occasional Saturdays. This is a contractual position and is subject to the availability of grant funds. Successful candidates will be offered an initial position spanning between July and December with the option to renew based on performance through June 2024.Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required. Accommodation for medical and religious exemption will be considered. Weekly testing required for approved vaccination exemptions.Primary Responsibilities:

• Teen REACH, Teaching Assistants, will be responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functionality as well as supporting the emotional well-being of the students. Other duties will include but are not limited to;
  • Implementing lesson plans and maintaining daily classroom schedules
  • Supporting each youth's social, emotional, and intellectual growth and development
  • Ensuring the well-being and safety of youth at all times
  • Using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies to meet individual youth needs
  • Assisting youth with assignments or difficult concepts
  • Maintaining communication with parents, staff, and faculty regarding the progress of studentsEducation / Experience Requirements:
    • 18 years and older
    • Spanish- or Polish-speaking preferred
