SummaryResponsible for using standardized business development tactics to generate: New Members, Non-Dues Revenue (NDR) Generation, Member Retention, and Prospect Referrals. Sells new memberships to prospective members and NDR to current members over the telephone by performing the following duties.This position can work remotely; however, due to the nature of the work, we require that the applicants be within driving distance of our four office locations (Waukesha, WI; Golden Valley, MN; Schaumburg, IL; and Moline, IL) and have the ability to work with our teams in these locations periodically.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Develops and executes a grassroots prospecting plan required for new membership sales.
  • Partners with marketing to create regular campaigns for nurturing leads.
  • Makes outbound calls for grassroots prospecting and leads follow-up calls to potential customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell new memberships.
  • Translates customer needs/requirements into recommended solutions provided by MRA.
  • When contacted by a member, leads the proposal process for Inside Sales opportunities from introduction to close by working with the Line of Business Leader and Member Relations Manager.
  • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into qualified leads and sales.
  • Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Provides membership demos to qualified customers on request.
  • Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Utilize standard dashboard reports to identify opportunities to grow and retain business.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data into Salesforce.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems.
  • Travels to and attends trade shows or See and Be Seen visits.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • One year of strong grassroots prospecting experience required
    • Previous B2B sales experience in Professional Services, Education, or Human Resources consultancy preferred
    • Solid consultative sales skills and ability to uncover effective customer solutions
    • Solid teamwork skills
    • Ability to utilize CRM software for conducting daily business tasks. Strong preference for prior SalesForce experience.
    • Shows initiative - engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities to bring in new members and grow the business.
    • Adaptable - responds effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using good written and verbal communication skills.
      Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; and Database software.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
