Specifically, we are actively recruiting for a Shipping/Receiving Coordinator for our Schaumburg, IL plant location within our Action Technology Division of Tekni-Plex.This is an hourly position that provides support within the shipping/receiving department by preparing product and documents related to the department. This involves strong communication and coordination between all departments within the organization and carriers as needed. Knowledge of shipping documentation; including but not limited to bills of lading, packing lists, product certifications and a variety of export documents for international shipments. Ability to use scanners and computers are necessary in this role.What skills do you bring to the role?* Adheres to all safety rules and procedures and participates in proactive safety programs which includes safely operating a forklift.* Prepares all shipping documentation; including but not limited to bills of lading, packing lists, product certifications and a variety of export documents for international shipments* Schedules all outgoing shipments, including any necessary routing changes, to meet customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.* Tracks all inbound freight, ensures the receipt amount matches the paperwork and that it is delivered to the appropriate parties* Responsible for the organization of the department and warehouse* Monitors carrier reliability and responsiveness and provides management with appropriate data for analysis; assists in resolving traffic-related irregularities.* Utilizes the company ERP system and PC software to develop, maintain and generate effective reporting systems that relate to the job function.* Maintains strong channels of communication with customer service, scheduling, quality, production and purchasing, and facilitates any necessary follow-up to achieve customer satisfaction.* Prepares finished product for shipment according to customer requirements - staging on skids, matching to corresponding paperwork, scanning in and out of inventory, greeting drivers, loading and unloading trucks.What skills do you bring to the role?* Must be computer literate with at least two years of Shipping and Receiving experience both in domestic and international shipping.* Previous forklift experience required.
