Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have purchasing experience and technical drawing reading and understanding. This candidate can purchase all drawing and manufacturing materials needed to build, repair and retool automation equipment. Also, be able to effectively communicate both verbal and written forms.
Responsibilities

• Able to purchase manufactured parts needed to build automation.
• Ensure on-time delivery to help facilitate the delivery date.
• Expedite orders when necessary.
• Adjust and release purchase requisitions.
• Able to regularly check prices and negotiate with vendors to ensure high-quality products are received.
• Ensure material costs are within budget.
• Able to cultivate alternate suppliers for cost, discounts, and schedule sensitive supplies.
• Work closely with the mechanical engineering and spare parts departments.
• Maintain new parts in SAP.
• Process in-house production orders.
• Maintain and update purchasing info records, and work with AP and Logistics to resolve issues.
  Qualifications
  • Technical background, machining experience, or technical degree
  • Minimum 4 years experience in purchasing in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with purchasing mechanical and/or automation.
  • Able to read technical drawings for manufactured parts.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Able to identify where to purchase items needed to build machines and automation.
