Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
--- Performs daily pre-operational and changeover checks of the
production area, packaging area, utensils, guards, etc. to ensure
sanitary standards are being met.
--- Cleans/sanitizes QA equipment, QA utensils, or any QA items
used in production that is found unsanitary.
--- Notifies Production when something on the line is found
unsanitary.
--- Verifies that the metal detector is working accurately
throughout the shift. Records information on the metal detector log
sheet.
--- Selects random samples of finished product at the beginning,
middle, and end of the product run for lab analysis, sensory and
shelf life. Depending on what product is running, samples may also
need to be taken every hour or every two hours for testing.
--- Prepares daily BOMs (Bill of Materials).
--- Completes all paperwork that is necessary for the assigned
area.
--- Monitors Production personnel to ensure conformance with GMP's.
Informs the Manager/Supervisor if non-compliance is not corrected
immediately.
--- Monitors the use of all packaging materials to ensure that they
adhere to specifications.
--- Authorizes HOLD process for any packaging or finished product
that does not comply with specifications. Notifies the QA
Supervisor and Production Line Lead immediately.
--- Checks PH and R.I. for sauce and are also required to taste the
sauce.
--- Manages packaging audits at a minimum of three times per
shift.
--- Inspects the sifter at a minimum of three times per shift.
--- Monitors and documents the bulk product being packaged.
--- Documents the Operational Sanitation check.
--- Performs Lockout/Tagout as required.
--- Participates in sensory training and evaluation to help ensure
the highest quality of our products.
--- Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as
improve processes.
--- Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention
to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with
all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on
continuous improvement.
--- Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's
(Good Manufacturing Practices).
--- Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free
work place.
--- Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or
safety-related issues to Management.
--- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or
requested.
Education, Skills and Experience:
Education:
--- High School diploma or GED.
Skills and Experience:
--- Ability to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating
shifts.
--- Ability to speak, write and understand English.
--- Must have an understanding of numbers.
--- Ability to compute by adding, subtracting and averaging
numbers.
--- Ability to perform basic laboratory skills.
--- Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
--- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
--- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.

employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently

employee must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and must
frequently lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with lifting equipment
or assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the
employee regularly works in an office environment. The noise level
in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the
duties of this job in the plant, the employee occasionally works
near moving mechanical parts. Employee may be exposed to extreme
hot or cold temperatures. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate to loud. While in the plant, the
employee is required to utilize the required personal protective
equipment.
Organizational Structure:
The Quality Assurance General Technician will report directly to
the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
