Job Description:

Our client is currently seeking a Director of Distribution/Logistics in the Chicago Land Area to oversee the transportation and warehousing at 3 sites, for a food manufacturing facility.This job will have the following responsibilities:Implement and oversee warehouse operations, including logistics, scheduling systems, delivery, transportation, loading dock activity, food storage and security, warehouse temperature control, pest control, emergency action plans, and closing procedures.Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple warehouses, including a frozen pallets freezer, refrigerated pallets, and dry pallets.Review daily inbound delivery schedule and determine storage locations based on the production schedule.Ensure accurate inventory counts and manage inventory control system with lot codes.Coordinate with third-party cold storage providers to ensure correct inventory on hand.Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to reconcile discrepancies and track pallet exchanges.Manage a team of drivers, forklift operators, and administration staff, allocating resources as needed.Collaborate with finance and customer service teams to track fines, penalties, and 3PL contract adherence.Verify raw material and packaging locations based on the production schedule.Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the SQF system to achieve food safety and quality objectives.Requirements/Skills:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, or a related field.Minimum of five years of prior management experience in operational roles.Proficiency with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cohesively in a fast-moving team environment.Demonstrated senior leadership with strategic, policy, and budget planning experience.Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.Experience in food distribution preferred.We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for career advancement. if interested please apply below or send me a updated resume to SGoudy judge.comhttps://www.judge.com/jobs/details/986155/
