Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor-1st
Shift with a major packaging company located in the Berwyn/Cicero
area
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Provide leadership and supervision to the maintenance production
team responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining
production equipment.Ensure safety, quality, and maximum production
efficiencies are maintained to support the manufacturing facility's
overall goals, such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness
(OEE).Oversee, plan, and issue work orders to team members for
equipment modifications, preventative maintenance, and corrective
maintenance.Coordinate repair and maintenance activities with
production and scheduling departments as needed.Be actively
involved on the floor, providing hands-on troubleshooting and
maintenance of production equipment.Enforce plant rules, monitor
attendance, and generate maintenance logs and relevant documents,
such as OEE metrics.Conduct safety inspections, examine tools and
equipment, and facilitate safety training to ensure a safe work
environment.Prepare purchase requisitions for materials and
supplies, including tools, equipment, and replacement
parts.Interface with vendors and suppliers as necessary to discuss
products used in repair work or required for projects.Participate
in Lean Manufacturing practices such as Six Sigma, 5S, FMEA, and 8D
Problem Analysis to improve efficiency and quality.Foster a
positive working environment, drive the maintenance team to meet
productivity targets and performance standards, and review Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) for improvements.Equipment
Installation and Removal: Plan and coordinate the installation and
removal of plant equipment.Training: Ensure maintenance employees
are properly trained in safety, quality, and production aspects of
their jobs. Recommend and coordinate safety and technical
training.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Associates Degree and/or technical school certificationExperience
with electrical trouble shooting and repair At least one year of
experience leading/supervising in a manufacturing operation Strong
organizational and planning skills Exceptional written/verbal
communication skills and ability to be a team player Excellent
analytical thinking and innovative problem solving skills Has the
ability to multi-task, prioritize in a fast-paced environment
