Job Description:
Ametek, Inc. The Divisional EHS Specialist will assist in
implementing a progressive EHS strategy throughout the Measurement,
Communications and Testing (MCT) Division. The successful candidate
will be required to travel up to 50% of the time. The Environmental
Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible to assist
with EHS program implementation, be an EHS technical resource for
the division, conduct various EHS training sessions (Blood Borne
Pathogen, Respirator, Respirator fit testing, Hazard Communication
etc.), participate in site EHS auditing and complete risk
assessments for the various Business Units within the MCT Division.
The purpose of the job is to reduce accidents and incidents through
progressive, best-in-class EHS practices with the ultimate goal of
zero accidents and incidents. This is done through health, safety
and environmental training, the implementation of “best in class”
programs, safety audits, KPI scorecards, etc. The Measurement
Communications and Testing (MCT) Division provides the design,
integration and installation of critical communication systems,
workflow, life-safety solutions and calibration instruments for
temperature, pressure, and process controls. It also is a leader in
level measurement devices, continuous position sensors, hardness
testers, force measurement devices and retractable cord reels. In
addition, it offers a line of weathering test instruments along
with laboratory and outdoor testing services. Position
Requirements: Establish position as a trusted EHS technical
resource within the Divisional and BU leadership teams. Build
strong relationships with business leaders and employees for
support through effective communication and site visits.
Knowledgeable in OSHA and EPA regulations. Support the
implementation of EHS programs and procedures through internal
memos, division communication calls or specific training programs.
Participate in EHS Corporate audits. Assist sites in managing and
closing noted corrective actions. Collaborate with
Managers/Supervisors on accident/incident investigations, root
cause analysis, corrective action identification and
implementation. Ensures site conformance to company and regulatory
EHS standards and guidelines. Continuously monitor work
environments for EHS concerns and risk mitigation opportunities.
Identify site EHS training needs, coordinate and complete EHS
training as needed. Complete risk assessments and industrial
hygiene sampling as needed. Liaises as necessary between the
Division, Corporate Compliance, managers, insurance carriers and
regulatory agencies to assist and resolve worker’s compensation
claims and other EHS related issues. Monitors ESG and EHS metrics,
provides recommendations to EHS management when necessary, to meet
Company EHS standards and goals. Provide site support for
environmental permit implementation and reporting as needed.
Prepare, maintain, and submit reports or documents that may be
required to meet corporate or regulatory reporting requirements.
Work with site BU Management to review process changes for EHS
impacts. Support EHS related committees. All other duties as
assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in
Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or other safety related
field of study from an accredited college/university or the
equivalent work experience is required. 3 to 5 years of experience
in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS). Working
knowledge of applicable EHS standards and regulations. Experience
in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Experience in hazardous
waste packaging and shipping is a plus. Demonstrated ability to
coordinate and complete industrial hygiene sampling. Demonstrated
ability to develop and implement EHS programs. Ability to interpret
EHS standards and regulations. Proficient in EHS training and
auditing. Ability to effectively communicate and present
information to all levels of an organization. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office, with an understanding of charts and formulas in
Excel and the ability to produce high quality PowerPoint
Presentation to communicate EHS. Ability to travel up to 50%,
domestically and internationally. Employee will receive a company
credit card for traveling domestically and internationally. The
position requires a results-oriented self-starter who is proactive
and takes initiative and direction.
